5 Things I've had to learn at 23.

1. Not everyone is the same as me.

Seems obvious enough but this has been one of the hardest lessons so far. Being in my first long term relationship it's become apparent that to co exist you really have to understand that other person's way of being. Different people have different ways of expressing their feelings and will also react to the same situation in a different way. I find its good to be aware of and try to understand the other persons side if you can.

2. People really hate it when you're late.

My time keeping is appalling. Honestly, it's quite frustrating sometimes. Things always take longer than planned and I just can't conform to the standard idea of time. I'm really trying to change but it doesn't help that I've learnt to turn my alarm off in my sleep!

3. At some point playing the 'youngest' card doesn't work in your favour - especially at work.

The last 2-3 years have been quite career focused and if you sometimes play on being the youngest of the group people won't take you seriously which means you won't be seriously considered for promotions and opportunities. I'm quite a playful person so I have to find the balance between being myself and being professional.

4. Financial organisation

If you're an excel geek like me then get yourself a financial spreadsheet. They're amazing.
Set yourself budgets and use formulas to calculate how much you're spending and how much you have left. I even colour code mine into categories so I can see where I'm overspending. (Usually in boots!)

5. Make your point then let it go.

Arguments, every couple has 'em. I get myself into a right mess if I sit on something for days and then explode at my poor boyfriend. I find it's best to make your point, hear his side, find out how you both feel then move on.

If any of you know what i'm talking about then please share your own experiences in the comments!

Cotswold Wildlife Park & Gardens

Recently my boyfriend surprised me with a trip to Cotswolds Wildlife Park. I hadn't been since I was a toddler so I was really excited to go. The weather was gorgeous and it was just the perfect day. Sun, penguins and baby monkeys. What else could you possibly need?
